Rexy and the four Steps to Friendship

Rexy and the Four Steps to Friendship is the first children’s book reviewed in this blog, and it is decidedly off-genre for us. I’m doing this for three reasons – one, it’s a great kid’s book, for pre-kindergarteners, kindergarteners, and other early grade school kids. Two, it’s based on psychoanalytic principles and covers a subject that has been ignored in early books – how to kids make friends. Three, it’s written by my friends Julie Sugarman and Mary Ruppert, two lifetime kindergarten teachers who bring a lot more to the classroom than one would expect. Check out their website. I’ve already bought copies for my kids and grandchildren. I plan on reading this one aloud to my grandchildren over, and over, and over, and over… you get the idea.
