Cold Pursuit by T. Jefferson Parker

I ripped through T. Jefferson Parker’s Cold Pursuit, primarily because I realized I had already read this one. I think EC Don and I agree that he’s the Southern California version of Pelacanos. It’s a good story, a fast paced story. I think his books were originally suggested to me by my brother-in-law, who is a writing/literature prof at Long Beach State. It is not his type of genre and he tends to stick to higher brow literature.

  1. What is is about this book that I keep forgetting I've read it? This was my third reading, the last about 2 years ago, the first, who knows how long before that. I kept reading because I also could not remember who-dun-it. The lead character, Tom McMichael is a strong figure, and just complex enough, with just enough troubles of his own. The three-generational angle was very well done. So, if you haven't read T. Jefferson Parker, this would be a great place to start, and I'll look forward to his next new one.
